Kevins Blackbird earrings

Birds have appealed to our imagination from the beginning of time.

Some of the earliest jewellery found depicts birds.

One of my favourite bird legends is that of St Kevin, founder of Glendalough .

He was a hermit and lover of animal and birds .

 One Day while he was praying, a blackbird landed in the palm of his hand,she built her nest and laid her egg, in an act of kindness  he didn’t move until the baby bird had flown.
