Athlone pendant

Carved solid sterling silver pendant with “Athlone” carved in ogham writing . Ogham was the first form of written gaelic  and was used in Ireland from approx . 400AD until medieval times . Generally used for short inscriptions such as names . It reads from the bottom up .
